The Team
Steve Taylor
Steve is the founder and managing director of Creative Outdoor Solutions with industry recognized training, an Advanced Certificate in Landscape Construction and Design (Cert. IV) and 10 years industry experience. He also has obtained an Advanced Diploma of Management to compliment and support his trade qualifications. Steve’s extensive knowledge and reputation in all factors of landscaping and the advantages of investing in the landscape has seen him be invited as a guest speaker at the 2007 SPASA Pool & Spa Expo to present the latest design trends of the landscape industry.
Steve has also written articles for the publication "Landscape Victoria" on landscape investments and the impact a landscape can have on property/lifestyle values. Recently Steve filmed a segment with John Patrick from ABC Gardening Australia on small courtyard garden design featuring our design tips and footage from Danks Street, Lansell Road and Orrong Cresent. His work has now been published in John Patrick’s "Contemporary Australian Landscapes" and is currently available in all ABC retail stores.
Steve has also just finished shooting with the team from Channel 7’s multi award winning Better Homes and Gardens emphasising the creativity in designs for small spaces at their Orrong Crescent project. The special will be aired later this year or early in the new year.
Creative Outdoor Solutions currently runs a team of 8 fulltime and 2 part time employees.
Tyson
Tyson is one of Creative Outdoor Solutions site foreman and learnt his trade skills with the company since he started his apprenticeship at the age of 16. Tyson has continually performed beyond his years in both maturity and experience and with his skill, knowledge, problem solving skills customer relations and leadership are often complimented on by clients. His potential with in the company is endless and we look forward to his further development and growth as a landscaper and a person.
Zac
Zac is our other site foremen and has been with our company for over 2 years. Due to his industry knowledge, skill and wanting to learn and grow, Zac has been given ownership of many large scale projects where he has been delivering great results. His commitment to the design, his apprentices and client relations makes Zac a highly valued member of the team and we also look forward to his growth and further development over the coming years.
Josh
Josh has recently finished his apprenticeship that he commenced with Creative Outdoor Solutions and is now a proud qualified landscaper that has chosen to continue on with the team in the immediate future. Josh won the "1st Year Apprentice of the Year" and the Kew Rotary Clubs overall apprentice of the year, his high level of commitment and achievement has continued throughout his apprenticeship and we are all proud of Josh’s achievements over the course of his schooling.
Ed
Ed has now become a third year apprentice and his commitment to the course structure has just been recognised by winning the "3rd Year Apprentice of the Year" and coming runner up in the overall apprentice of the year out of over 1000 hopeful students. Ed also continues to learn on site and his trade skill are developing very well and we look forward to being a part of Ed’s bright future with in the industry.
Adrian
Adrian has recently joined Creative Outdoor Solutions to commence his apprenticeship and forge a career in the exciting field of landscape construction. With some experience in the building industry, Adrian brings a new level of enthusiam and eagerness to learn and we are all looking forward to helping him become a highly skilled, valued landscaper within our current team.
Daniel
Daniel started with Creative Outdoor Solutions at the start of 2009 as a second year apprentice and has slotted in to the team very well with his good work ethics, presentable nature and willingness to learn and grow as a tradesman. We also look forward to the development of Daniel over the coming years.
Alison
Alison is the Senior member of the design support team and with her horticulture qualifications along with her current studies in Landscape Architecture. Alison is now becoming responsible for plant procurement, design meetings and actual design concepts as a direct result of her hard work, commitment and design flair.
Brett
Brett has joined the Creative Outdoor Solutions design team with an already impressive folio of graphic design work and has already influenced plan presentation quality and the efficiency of the design office. Brett is currently studying his second degree in Master of Landscape Architecture and has chosen Creative Outdoor Solutions to start his new career path and compliment his studies.
Melanie
After completing her Diploma of Building design and technology and receiving a post graduate scholarship for her academic excellence, Mel tested her feet in the world of large corporate drafting. Realising her abilities, passion and drive far exceeded the slow corporate path, Mel returned to Creative Outdoor Solutions where she was first employed as a drafting assistant and now heads up the drafting side of the design office. Her knowledge of Australian building codes, efficiency in plan presentation and strong work ethic has been immediately appreciated and Creative Outdoor solutions now offer full working drawings for all aspect of landscape works. We are looking forward to the design services continually adapting and evolving under Mel’s guidance and consumer demands.
